Target and Goodwill Finds

I've been wanting to get out to Target the past couple of days, because I heard about the $5 gift card that you get if you buy 7 frozen items. I bundled the kids up and off we went. Let me tell you, if you live in Champaign, don't bother going for the frozen foods. They are renovating the entire food section, so they had limited amounts of frozen foods.

But if you are in need of some FREE jeans, I highly recommend checking out Target. Since they are turning our Target into a Super Target, almost everything is being marked down...including the women's jeans! Click here to print off a $5 coupon for women's jeans at Target. I spent a grand total of $3.03 for the items pictured above!

Then the boys and I went to the Goodwill in search for a picture frame. Unfortunately we didn't find a frame the size I wanted, but we got a couple of other good finds! Pudge is in the process of getting a new bike, and he needed a helmet. How great is it that we found one with Spiderman on it! He loves it!

I've also been on a hunt to find more of those Brain Quest cards for the boys. Specifically the ones with pictures on them to help them learn. We found one as well at Goodwill!

Total for the items below, $4.50! The helmet retails for $20 and the Brain Quest retails for $10.50! So we got a great deal!

My Husband's Trip To Goodwill

I have found out that my husband is fully capable of finding great deals on his own! The other day he tore a hole in his favorite pair of jeans. I mentioned to him that Bergners and Kohls were having 70% off their winter clothing, so he should check it out to see if he could find some good deals there. Low and behold, my husband went to Goodwill first, just to see if there was anything his size...and he came home with 3 pairs of pants and 3 shirts! I was very impressed.

Then he told me of how he got paid to bring these clothes home. First of all, he had a gift card to Goodwill, so he used most of that for his bill. And while he was trying on the pants he bought, there was $1 bill in one of them! So when he went to the register and used his gift card the total came up to $0.45, so he used his $1 he found to pay for everything! How clever! So, technically, he got paid to shop at Goodwill.

Isn't that a great story to tell? My husband is so genius!

Goodwill Trip

Pudge and I headed out to North Prospect after we dropped off Z-man at school, because we had a coupon for Pudge to get his 3rd birthday pictures taken at Olan Mills (located at Meijer). So we stopped at Goodwill to waste 45 minutes before his appointment.

Here's what we found:

The boys have really been into computer games lately, and so we always make sure to check the Thrift stores when we go. Pudge and I found a basket full of computer games on sale for $0.99 each! They usually are priced at $2.96 each, so this was a great find! We picked up 7, some that we will re-gift, and some will go to the consignment shop.

We found a DVD of the Little Einsteins that still had the wrapper on it! Guaranteed no scratches! We paid full price for that one, $3.50.

And the books were just for fun. $0.25 each.

I love Goodwill! And thanks to my grandma, I didn't pay anything out of pocket, instead I used the gift card she gave me for Christmas!

Goodwill and Home Depot Trip

It has been a long time since I've been to the Goodwill in town, so today, I left my husband with the kids (while they were napping) and took off. I was in luck because they had ladies sleeveless shirts 75% off! I found these 3 tank tops for around 60 cents each!

I also searched the pants section and found this Calvin Klein jean skirt hiding in the rack. It fit! I spent $3 to get this skirt.




Also in my time away from the boys, I had this coupon for being a part of the Home Depot Garden Club. It was a buy one get one free coupon for Spring bulbs. I had been saving my monies that I had made from odd jobs, and so I used that extra money on the bulbs. I paid $18 for the two packages below. Hooray for new flowers in the Spring!

My husband and I went on a date...to Goodwill! I already know what you're thinking. But here's what we came out with for a little over $11. Check out my new Mary Jane shoes! They only cost $3!! I was so excited to try them on. Here they are up close:

Cute, right? Because I found these lovely shoes, I got rid of 2 pairs of brown shoes that I needed to give away. So I'm very pleased with them. Did you shop at Goodwill this week? If so, what'd ya find?

Our NEW Goodwill Store!

Our new Goodwill store opened yesterday and I was so excited to join the crowds!

My sister was going to join me, but was running last, so I asked my husband if he wanted to fight the crowds with me. And he did! (we had his brother watch the kids, thanks Bubba!)

We were very impressed with the store to say the least. It's just nice to have a new Goodwill overall, so there were no complaints here (except for some impatient people).

I took some photos of the merchandise, because I thought it'd be fun to show you all. They had some (expensive for Goodwill) leather couches and chairs that looked brand spankin' new.

They had some nice dining room and bedroom furniture:

There were also alot of new items ranging from hair accessories to sunglasses:

And don't forget the shoes (lots and lots of them!):

So you're probably wondering what I came home with? Well, not too much, because it wasn't easy getting around in the store with so many people there. But we did find some things:

Goodwill Findings

If you live in Champaign, IL or nearby, head on over to Goodwill TODAY because everything in their store is 50% off!! Today is their last day open at their old store, and this Saturday they will reopen at their new store just off the interstate!

I had no idea this was their last day open, so we were really in luck when we walked in the doors and someone over the microphone said that everything was 50% off. I couldn't believe it! We found some very cute sweaters and a pair of dress pants for my husband.

So some great deals for less than $8 altogether! If you're interested the new Goodwill will be located at 912 W. Anthony, just off Interstate 74. They will have a grand opening on Saturday at 9am with the first 100 people getting a scratch off card for prizes! I will definitely be there! So exciting!

I'm always a sucker for pants at Goodwill, especially when they're name brand. I got these 3 pairs, one is GAP, the other two are Merona (from Target), where I love their pants!

Z-man is outgrowing alot of his dress clothes, so I'm trying to buy some in advance. Here is a nice vest I found there.

I always keep an eye out for sweaters for my boys. This one is from Children's Place and it's 18 months. I got it for Pudge. (even though he's turning 2 next week, this sweater fits him just fine).

And these are some travel containers for the kids, so cute!! Only $1.25.

Goodwill Date with Hubbie

My husband and I got a chance to go to the Goodwill last night while Grandma and Grandpa stole our kids.  It was a surprise visit and we were happy to have them wisk the kids away while we had some time to ourselves.  

And what did we do with that precious time???  We went to Goodwill!  I know, I know, we're crazy, right? We love the thrill of finding a great item or just the cheap prices.  (Don't worry, we also went out for a bite to eat at Panera as well before we came home to our kids!)

Anyway, here's what we walked out with:

We also snagged 3 cute blue baskets that I'll use to store all our art supplies for the kids, and I found a little shelf to hang in our spare bedroom (will be painted at a later date).

Goodwill Findings

While I was away on a mini vacation without my kids, my husband and I stopped at a Goodwill in Ohio, and here's what we found.  I've been looking for awhile now to hang some sort of a big wall-hanging in our spare bedroom and I think I may have found something that I can use!  It cost us $20 and the only thing wrong with it is the back hanger part.  But we can fix that easily. 

I also know that it looks like it belongs in a church, but for now it will work! :)

 

The Goodwill was also having a $0.99 sale on women's knit shirts that cost $4.99 originally.  So I scooped up these 4 shirts/sweaters.  It really was a great deal overall!  I been loving the light pink color lately on my clothes, so I found some more items for my closet.

I've been on the lookout for awhile now for a pair of gym shoes.  They didn't need to be brand new, but lately I've been on the verge of buying new ones, because I hadn't found any yet.  The ones I had were the ones I bought from Goodwill when I was pregnant...the slip-on kind.  Anyway, lately I've been needing real shoes for walking and workout.  So my husband and I decided to check out GW one more time before heading to the real stores to check out prices.  And low and behold, there were a pair of New Balance (pictured above), a pair of Nike's, and a pair of Asics...ALL in my shoe size!!

I'm partial to New Balance, just because they're more comfortable on my feet than the others.  So guess how much they cost me?  (drum-roll...)  $3.00!!  Yes!  So happy with my new shoes from Goodwill!!

Goodwill Findings

I felt lucky when I headed over to Goodwill today.  I was really looking for a new pair of Kakhi's because the ones that I have and love, have too many holes in them.  I have gotten several hints from my husband and now from my sister, so I figured that I'd check out Goodwill for a new pair.

And to top it off the Kakhi's were from Express and they were 50% off!  So I got them for $1.99!

  

I also tried on some other pants and jeans there and I was excited to find some great finds!  The rest of the pants were $3.99.  The black work out pants are from Lady Foot Locker, the next pair are from Candies, the next are from Express, and the brown slacks are from Relativity, and the Kakhi's are from Express. 

I also grabbed a cute pair of short overalls for little Silas that were 50% off, so they were $0.88!!!  And they're from OshKosh!  Super cute!
