CVS & Walgreens

Pudge and I went to CVS and Walgreens this morning and here's what we got for $9.06:

We also got $2.77 ECB (Extra Care Bucks) from CVS, and $2 RR (Register Rewards) from Walgreens. So, I will use that on our next trip there.

If you're curious where I get my deals from, I check out Coupon STL's blog every week!

Grocery Spending for 2 weeks = $98.48

If you haven't read in my earlier post, we are increasing our grocery budget to $50 a week, because we have an extra mouth to feed in this house for the summer. My sister has come to live with us and work for the summer. So, instead of $40/week for groceries, we've increased it by $10/week.

County Market = $31.32

CVS = Free with using my Extra Care Bucks.

County Market = $2.01
I used some "penny pinchers' and combined them with a manufacturer coupon and got each box for $1!

Aldi's = $65.17
I love Aldi's, what more can I say...

Total spent for 2 weeks of groceries = $98.48

Grocery Shopping this Week = $44.90

We have $40/week in our budget for groceries. Lately it's been kind of difficult to stay within our budget, so each week I take out the overage from the next week.

Schnucks = $13.17
I was very excited to take my mom with on this shopping trip to Schnucks. She was impressed with the savings that I showed her. We scored 10 bags of Malt-O-Meal cereal for free! Thanks, mom, for helping watch the boys while we shopped! Also, thanks to Coupon STL for her post on deals at Schnucks.

Dollar General = $3.10
The chips were free with a coupon, and my husband has a new love for Tostitos Restaurant Style Salsa.

County Market = $10.67
Here I am just stocking up on items that we needed in our pantry. I only had coupons for the Bob Evans Sausage.

Big Lots = $16.06
I was excited to find a 10 lb. bag of flour for $3! I also stocked up on bread, each only $1.

This past week I spent $44.90 on groceries. In this total, I've included my overage from last week.

January 21, 2011

Grocery Shopping Trip = $38.65

Here's what I picked up from the store this week for groceries. We have a budget of $40/week on groceries, and I feel that if I post what I bought for every week, I will be more accountable to that. Check it out!

Meijer = $29.56
They had a great deal on yogurt, and the sausage was marked down to 25% off.

The cashier I had was not very nice with my coupons and questioned each one I gave her. Boo.

Walgreens = $1.07
Olives were $0.99 after the in-ad coupon. The snickers were a filler, and I used Register Rewards to pay for most of my total.

County Market = $8.02
I got a great deal on the juice. They were only $0.50 each, because I had a BOGO coupon and also a $1 off 2 coupon. My cashier took both of them, making them $0.50 each.

The Nut Crisps were for a mail in rebate, and I found out I bought the wrong kind. So I'll have to get the right kind next time.

CVS = Spent $5.14 out of pocket, got $6 in Extra Care Bucks:
I didn't total this into my grocery budget, since we don't technically "eat" toothpaste, but I thought I'd show you what I got anyway.

Total spent for this week's grocery was $38.65.

Grocery shopping for 2 weeks = $79.49

Okay, so some of you may be blown away by the huge amount I spent on groceries. Don't worry, I hadn't gone shopping in two weeks, so my grocery budget for this trip was $80. We usually only allow for $40/week on groceries.

Here's what I came home with:

CVS = $6.50

I got $5 ECB back. Also used $1/2 Kellogg's coupon.

County Market = $57.94

I used alot of in-store coupons this week.

Big Lots = $15.05

We were funning low on snacks at our place, and the best place for me to stock up is Big Lots. When I was there (since it was my first stop), I made sure to check to see if they had any other items that were on my grocery list. I was surprised to find bread for only $1, Rice-a-Roni, pasta, and Wheat Thins all for less that what I would pay at a regular grocery store.

It feels nice knowing that we are stocked up on bread and other items. Here's to a good shopping week!

CVS Trip

I went to CVS this week as well, because I heard about the CVS Price Scanner was printing off coupons for 2/$2 Xtra Laundry Detergent. And they were on sale this week for 2/$4 = thus making them $1/bottle. Not too bad for laundry detergent!

The oatmeal technically falls under our grocery budget, and they were $0.50/box (when you figure in coupons and Extra Care Bucks gotten back).

Total spent on the above purchases was $12.03, and I got $2 ECB back to use on my next trip.

If you're wanting to figure out how to use ECB and get more for your money, check out Coupon STL's blog. She has $5 scenarios for you.

Grocery shopping this week = $41.63

Okay, okay, I know I went over my budget by $1.63, but I justify it by saying that in previous weeks I have been under budget, so we will take that $1.63 out of those weeks. I'm trying really hard to

Total spent at County Market = $1.37

If you're wondering how in the world I only spent $1.37 on all these name brand items, you can thank Kraft for sending me coupons for the three items in the lower half of the photo. I highly recommend following Money Saving Mom's blog to keep up on all the freebies!

I also used a store coupon for $3 off any 6 General Mills products purchased. So I bought 6 Hamburger Helpers for $0.99/each, then used the $3 store coupon, and combined that with (2) $0.75 off 3 coupons. Which totaled to $1.50 for 6 boxes. I think I also got overage for one of the other free items I got. This was the best trip to County Market ever!!

Total spent at Target = $8.95

The total I typed above for Target was only for the food items. I just wanted to show you what all I got at Target. The non-food items comes out of our "laundry" budget. So if you're curious I spent $15.96 on the non-food items.

Target had a really good deal on cereal. Kellogg's cereal was on sale for $1.99, and I had a bunch of cereal coupons from Coupons.com. The Eggos were on sale for $1.75, and I had (3) $1 off coupons. I really just looked off of Money Saving Mom's blog for the Target deals she posts.

Total spent at CVS = $3.50

I had some Extra Care Bucks that I used towards this purchase and also combined that with some coupons I had printed out from Coupons.com.

Total spent at IGA = $4.61

Lots of good cereal deals this week, can you tell? IGA had an in-store coupon if you bought 4 boxes of GM cereal, you would get $4 off. I combined that in-store coupon with some manufacturer coupons from coupons.com.

Total spent at Walmart = $23.20

Walmart had our favorite spaghetti/pizza sauce on sale this week for $0.88! I decided to stock up on that price! I also had a coupon for the refried beans and the tomato paste.

That's it for this week, how did you do?

Grocery shopping this week

Here's an update on what all we spent this week for groceries. We made a couple trips to IGA because they had some great in-store coupons that we took advantage of (yogurt, Hunt's sauce, and Pizza Rolls!!)

My favorite grocery deal of the week was the Classico Sauce at IGA. It was on sale for 2/$5. Earlier this week I had printed out 2 coupons for Buy one, Get one free! Then later this week there was a coupon for $1.50 off 2 Classico sauces. So, when I used all 4 coupons, I got 4 jars of sauce for $4!!

The Lunchable was free, though I did pay full price for the honey (for our granola recipes).

Pictured below is from County Market. They had Tuna Helper for $1, so combined with a $0.75 off 3 coupon, it worked out well for us. The Country Crock was also on sale for $1 each, and we printed off 2 $0.40 coupons. The sugar snacks are for the boys!

Got some free toothbrushes from CVS this week, thanks to Money Saving Mom:

Total spent this week was $47.80. $7.80 over budget, so I'll have to take that out of next weeks grocery monies. Oh well, it was a great week for shopping! How did you do?

February 23, 2010

Tuesday Groceries

IGA: Strawberries were 2/$3!! Total spent was $10.

(above) Aldi's: $29.

(above) Schnucks: $26

(above) CVS: leftover V-Day candies were $0.25. Total spent $3.

County Market: Free with coupons from mail!

Total spent on Groceries: $68

I figured that I would skip grocery shopping next week since I technically am only supposed to spend $40 a week on groceries. Thanks for keeping me accountable!

Grocery Shopping this week

I was excited to see my Thrift Store Friend, Angela, at Aldi's this afternoon! It's always fun to see a familiar face when I'm out and about. It was fun chatting and catching up from the Holidays. Nice to see you again Angela! :)

I decided to go grocery shopping with my oldest son, while my husband stayed home and rested up from the flu that's been going around our family. We went to Aldi's (pictured above) and we spent $44.01. A little over our grocery budgeted amount...but we were close!

Pictured above is our quick trip into Walgreens. The Stacy's Pita Chips were on sale for $2.99 and we had 2 $1 off coupons. The Chex Mix was $1, and the Puffs and Playtex gloves were free from coupons we had got in the mail. Total spent for pictured above: $5.08.

I saved my favorite savings for last. Pictured above are the items we got at CVS. Each of these soaps are $0.99 this week, and with the $1 coupon from Sunday's insert, the total for the items above was only $0.33! I've been needing to stock up on soap, so I was so excited to step foot into CVS to see if there were any left. And yes, there are still lots more if you're needing to stock up on soap as well.

This was the only trip that I've taken to CVS where they've had almost everything on my list to get!  I was so excited!  These are mostly school supplies that I'll be giving to our church backpack drive.  All the school supplies I got were free with CVS Extra Care bucks.

CVS Trip

I was very pleased with my CVS trip tonight. I got 2 AirWick air freshners for $0.99 each. They were on sale for $4.99 and with this coupon, you get them for $0.99. So if you're in need of a new scent, this is it!

Also the Cheerios were $0.50 each, with this $1 off two coupon.

And the photo books were $7.99 for all 5. I got them all on seperate transactions, and used the $7.99 Extra Care Bucks (that printed out each transaction) to get them for super cheap. If you're curious about CVS' Extra Care Program, check it out here.

CVS Photo Book

Okay, so I just got back from CVS and it's confirmed, the 6x8 photo books are $7.99 and then you get $7.00 Extra Care Bucks back! SO I did this deal 5 times and got 5 photo books for basically free!! It was awesome! If you have a CVS near you, I highly suggest you get in on this deal this week. This will make a great gift for someone!!

CVS Trip

I haven't been to CVS in I don't know how long.  I mainly went there to score some free Post cereal, but alas, they were completely out.  I'll have to try to go on Thursday, when they restock.  Check out the deal here.

This week there are some good deals.

I spent a total of $10 even on the purchases above.  I made 2 transactions, so that I could use some of my CVS Extra Care Bucks on my 2nd transaction.  I copied what moneysavingmom.com suggested and it was a great find.
